Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Effective: August 2, 2020

In response to the recent escalation in COVID-19 infection rates across South Florida, our Credit Union continues to remain focused on the health and safety of our employees and members.

While some financial intuitions may have temporarily closed branches or restricted access to lobby services, the Credit Union has remained committed to providing continuous access to all of our branch locations. However, based on recent trends, our branch lobby capacity will be further reduced to allow for safer CDC recommended social distancing guidelines.

Introducing New Services

As you may have noted over the past several months, the Credit Union has been hard at work implementing new solutions to provide you with expedited and contactless service options. These service enhancements are part of a wider, multi-year plan to invest in new technology and programs to better support our members.

Important Safety Reminders

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the Credit Union has continued to adapt our facilities to support a safer environment for our members and employees.

Safety enhancements currently in effect at all branches:

  • Face coverings are required to be worn by all members and staff throughout their visit to our branch locations, without exception.
  • Plexiglas shields have been installed at all teller stations and lobby desks to provide further protection during member interaction.
  • A concierge system has been implemented at high-volume locations to manage capacity limits and allow members to wait comfortably in their cars for the next available staff member.
  • Security staff are greeting members at the front doors to help ensure an orderly flow of individuals entering our branches.
  • Floor markers have been placed in all branches to ensure proper social distancing.
  • To safeguard the health and safety of our members, lobby restrooms and water fountains remain closed to the public.

Branch and Drive-Thru Service Hours

We have discontinued appointment requirements at all branches and members will be assisted on a first come, first serve basis. Due to reduced capacity limits within our branch lobbies, you may encounter longer wait times. We kindly request that you limit any additional guests during your visit, as this may cause further delays for other members.

For added convenience, we recommend leveraging our online and telephone service channels for services that can be conducted remotely and do not require an in-person visit.

Lending Services

In an effort to make your loan requests smoother and more efficient, our lending processes have been streamlined with an enhanced online application and processing system. At this time, loan applications may be completed easily through our online application or by calling our Lending Center at 305-273-LOAN (5626).

For a contactless auto experience, our Auto Buying Team can facilitate your next car purchase. We will help you find a new or preowned vehicle, while saving you time and money on the purchase price. Call our Lending Center at 305-273-LOAN (5626) to obtain loan approval.

While mortgage rates are at an all-time low, applications are now exclusively accepted via phone or online. To start the process of refinancing your mortgage or to inquire on financing a new home purchase, please contact our Mortgage Department at 305-270-5256 or apply online.

In-Branch Coin Machines

As a free benefit to all SFEFCU members, new lobby coin machines are now available in all branches. These coin machines provide a sanitary way for members to count and deposit loose coin. Members may redeem the dollar amount of their coins, as a deposit into their account or to buy electronic gift cards for a host of major retailers and restaurants.

Online & Remote Account Access

As a reminder, the Credit Union offers 24/7 access to conduct transactions via Online and Mobile Banking. Members can access:

  • Member-to-member transfers
  • Domestic wire transfers
  • Free Bill Pay
  • Mobile/Remote Check Deposits

Publix and CO-OP Network ATMs are available for withdrawals. There is a Presto ATM located at all 1,220 Publix stores and nearly 30,000 surcharge-free CO-OP ATMs nationwide.
