Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

Working to Keep You Safe and Secure as We Expand our Branch Hours

The past several months have been a time of increased concern as we have all navigated unchartered challenges due to COVID-19.

Since the start of the pandemic, we have been diligently planning new enhancements to our branches that provide greater protection and convenience to our members during this difficult time.

Our first priority remains the health and safety of our employees and members, with particular emphasis on observing safety and social distancing guidelines within our branch facilities.

In recognition of this, we are pleased to share the following enhancements that will be effective on June 1st:

Expanded Branch Hours

  • All branches (except Downtown) will resume regular lobby services, excluding lending services. Appointments are no longer necessary to visit our branches (except Downtown) and the expanded operating hours are as follows:
    • Monday – Thursday: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
    • Friday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
    • Saturday: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • The Downtown branch will continue to offer limited lobby services by appointment only every Tuesday and Thursday: 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. To schedule an appointment at the Downtown branch, call our Member Contact Center at 305-270-5250.
  • Drive-thru services at Miami Gardens, 27th Avenue, Kendall and Palmetto Bay will operate during their normal hours:
    • Monday – Thursday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    • Friday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
    • Saturday: 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Lending Services

  • Lending services will not be available at our branches at this time. Loan applications may be completed via Online Banking or by contacting our Lending Center at 305-273-LOAN (5626).
  • Mortgage appointments will continue to be held exclusively via phone until further notice. To refinance your existing mortgage or inquire on financing a new home purchase, please contact our Mortgage Department at 305-270-5256.
  • Our Auto Buying Team can facilitate a contactless experience for new car purchases. We can assist you in finding your new vehicle, while saving you money on the purchase price. Contact our Lending Center at 305-273-LOAN (5626) to obtain pre-approval today!

Health & Safety Precautions

  • Lobby desks and teller stations have been equipped with Plexiglas shields for added protection to both staff and members conducting transactions.
  • Capacity within our branch lobbies will be limited to ensure that appropriate social distancing is observed. Security staff will be monitoring the number of members entering the branch to ensure the reduced capacity limits are not exceeded and to maintain an orderly flow of individuals in and out of the branch.
  • We kindly request you limit any nonessential, additional guests during your visit, as this may cause delays for other members awaiting service.
  • Face masks will continue to be required for all members and staff visiting our branches.
  • Floor markers have been placed in all branches to ensure proper social distancing guidelines are followed when awaiting service within our facilities.
  • To safeguard the health and safety of our members, lobby restrooms and water fountains will not be available for public use.

Coming Soon! New Lobby Coin Machines

As a free benefit to all SFEFCU members, new lobby-based coin machines will soon be available at all branch locations to provide a sanitary way for members to count and deposit loose coin. Members may redeem the dollar amount of their coins as a deposit into their account or to fund electronic gift cards for a host of major retailers and restaurants. More information will be released in the coming weeks on this exciting new service!

Online & Remote Account Access

As a reminder, the Credit Union offers 24/7 access to conduct transactions via Online and Mobile Banking:

  • Member-to-member transfers
  • Domestic wire transfers
  • Free Bill Pay
  • Mobile/Remote Check Deposits

Remember, you can also use Publix and CO-OP Network ATMs to make withdrawals. There is a Presto ATM located at all 1,220 Publix stores and nearly 30,000 surcharge-free CO-OP ATMs nation-wide.
