What is a High School Branch?

Our high school branches are coordinated by a Credit Union staff member who is present during the school's branch hours of operation. Each high school branch works closely and is sponsored by a South Florida Educational Federal Credit Union branch.

SFEFCU Partnership with Miami-Dade County Public School

In the past four years, South Florida Educational Federal Credit Union (SFEFCU) has formed partnerships with over 75% of the high schools in Miami-Dade County and created relationships with The National Academy Foundation, 5000 Role Models, The United Way of Miami, NFL YET Center, and Take Stock in Children.

In April 2008, SFEFCU's involvement in the educational community was recognized by the Miami-Dade County Public School system with a district-wide distinction. After receiving Miami-Dade County Public Schools' Exemplary Dade Partnership Award for three consecutive years, the Credit Union was inducted into the Hall of Fame for its outstanding contributions to the Miami-Dade educational system through SFEFCU's "Got Green?" Financial Literacy Program. The goal of "Got Green?" is to educate high school students on the importance of financial literacy and help prepare them financially for adulthood. In an effort to meet this goal, the Credit Union created a three-part financial literacy program to teach students the importance of budgeting, saving and investing. Since its inception, the program has reached more than 30,000 students.

In 2010, South Florida Educational Federal Credit Union was issued The Florida Department Of Education's 23rd Annual Commissioner's Business Recognition Award for its outstanding support of education.
