South Florida Educational Federal Credit Union was recently inducted into Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ Hall of Fame during its Annual Outstanding School Volunteers and Exemplary Dade Partners Awards.
After receiving Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ Exemplary Dade Partnership Award for three consecutive years, the Credit Union was inducted into the Hall of Fame for its outstanding contributions to the Miami-Dade educational system though our “Got Green?” Financial Literacy Program. The goal of our program is to educate high school students on the importance of financial literacy and help prepare them financially for adulthood. In an effort to meet this goal, the Credit Union created a three-part financial literacy program to teach students the importance of budgeting, saving and investing. To date, the program has reached more than 24,000 students with 9,071 students participating in its financial literacy program during the 2009/2010 school year.
